Agder Energi

Agder Energi is a power company based in Agder, Norway. It is the second largest power producer in Norway, after its largest owner, Statkraft (45.5%) who owns it along with 31 municipalities in the region Agder. It operates 31 hydroelectric power plants, operates the power grid in 31 municipalities, as well as district heating in Kristiansand, Mandal and Risør. Through the subsidiary LOS, Agder Energi offers end-user sale of power and broadband.
The company has a range of other owner interests, including Norsk Biobrensel (28.6%), the collection agency Sopran and the windfarm operator Dalane Vind (50%).
==History==
Agder Energi was created in 2000 when Aust-Agder Energi (AAE), Vest-Agder Energiverk (VAE) og Kristiansand Energiverk (KEV) were merged. At the time the company was valued at NOK 14.8 billion. The ownership was divided by 31.23% to AAE, 38.36% to VAE and 27.96% to KEV. In 2002 the state owned Statkraft bough 45.5% of the company.
